137 women in Belarus had been recognized as political prisoners

The International Women’s Day is celebrated all over the world on the 8th of March. The day is used to showcase women’s achievements regardless of any national borders or any ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political differences.

However, in times of repressions or military conflicts, it is the vulnerable groups that are the first to feel the aftermath of a crisis. Women and girls are no exception to the rule.

Therefore, today we feel the necessity to tell about the situation in Belarus.

The Radislava Public Association has been providing assistance and shelter to the female victims of domestic violence. Now the CSO is undergoing a liquidation process. The relevant judicial procedure has been scheduled for the 9th of March at the Minsk City Court of Justice. The liquidation procedure has been initiated by the General Department of Justice of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

UPD. On March 9, 2022 the Minsk City Court held a session on the liquidation of the Radislava CSO. It has been reported that the court ruled to liquidate this organization, − reported the Human Rights Center Viasna.

By the 8th of March 2022 137 women in Belarus had been recognized as political prisoners, including Volha Harbunova, a human rights activist and the leader of the Radzislava Public Association.

Today, on the 8th of March 2022 we say THANK YOU to all the women of Belarus!
